Chinese Student Delegation Visit College

Two years ago, a delegation of Chinese students visited the WA College of Agriculture-Denmark’s robotic dairy. They were so impressed by the beautiful campus and robotic milking system, that Shimin Liu, Principle Research Fellow from the University of WA School of Agriculture & Environment requested another visit for a large group of Chinese university students.

Today 20 Chinese students and their teachers, all studying agriculture at the Northwest Agricultural and Forest University, one of top universities in agricultural areas in China, took a tour of the College farm and the state of the art robotic dairy.

Mr. Kevin Osborne, Principal said, “These students visit the University of Western Australia for a few weeks at a time, to learn about and understand the WA agricultural system.  The College is delighted that the University extends that visit to include observation of a working agricultural college, namely the WA College of Agriculture-Denmark.”

The College celebrated its success in 2017 as a top performing dairy after Dairy Australia recognised the College for producing high quality milk while boosting on-farm profitability – when the College won the prestigious Australian Milk Quality Award.  That award recognises farms that have achieved the best milk quality in Australia based on annual average bulk milk cell count (BMCC) across Australia’s milk processing companies.

College Principal, Kevin Osborne, said “This is terrific recognition of the great work being undertaken in the College’s Robotic Dairy Enterprise and we hope to continue to showcase our achievements to the rest of the world.
