Introducing Your New Principal: A Fresh Chapter at WA College of Agriculture Denmark

It is a real privilege to introduce myself as the new principal of WA College of Agriculture Denmark. After months of anticipation, I am genuinely excited to have arrived and to begin leading such a vibrant community.

I would like to thank Mr Alf Mungioli for taking on the responsibilities of Principal and ensuring the College continued to operate effectively while awaiting my arrival.

From my first day, it has been clear that this is a place where students do not just learn - they thrive. One of the first things that struck me is the sheer quality of our facilities. Each corner of the College is set up to help students develop the skills they will need in tomorrow’s agriculture industry. Whether it’s in the workshops, on the farm, or in our trade spaces, the resources here are second to none. The classrooms hum with energy, and every learning space feels ready for hands-on discovery.

Of course, it is hard not to be inspired by the picturesque setting that surrounds us. Every morning, I am reminded just how lucky we are: rolling green pastures, crisp air, and wide skies that seem to promise endless opportunity. It is the perfect backdrop for the kind of practical, purposeful learning that happens here every day.

Since arriving, I have made it a priority to visit each area of the College’s farm and trade operations. I have watched our students at work—feeding livestock, repairing vehicles in the auto workshop, and tending to the land - and I am continually impressed by their focus and commitment. The sense of pride they take in their tasks is obvious. I am enthusiastic about what we can accomplish together.

I have also enjoyed spending time in the dining hall, where I have been warmly welcomed by both staff and students. I want to commend our students for the exceptional manners and positive attitude they display daily. Meals are more than just a time to refuel; they are a chance to connect, share stories, and build the strong sense of community that makes this College special.

I come to this role with a background in Home Economics and Design and Technology, as well as experience managing a Registered Training Organisation school. These roles have taught me the importance of blending practical skills with creative thinking, and of making sure every student finds their own pathway to success.

What has truly stood out to me, though, is the warmth and generosity of spirit I have experienced from everyone here. The staff have been nothing short of outstanding. They are approachable, committed, and deeply invested in every student’s success. From the very first day, both staff and students have made me feel instantly at home. Their openness and support have given me a genuine sense of belonging, and I am grateful to be a part of such a welcoming community.

As we look ahead, I am eager to work alongside you - students, staff, families, and community partners - to build on the College’s proud traditions while exploring new opportunities. My door is always open, and I look forward to meeting many more of you in the coming weeks.

Here’s to a fantastic year ahead at WA College of Agriculture Denmark.
