Year 10 Career Education / Wellbeing Sessions
It is essential that our Year 10 students understand the significance of their transition into Year 11 in 2026. At WACOA – Denmark, we are committed to assisting them in making informed choices about their Senior School options and recognising the value of the qualifications offered on-site.
To support this, a Career Education program is being delivered to all Year 10 students by Mr Woodruff. Students are working through a dedicated booklet, which serves as a summary of their career explorations and investigations.
Later this term, a letter will be sent to parents and guardians of Year 10 students, outlining our approach to preparing students for informed decision-making regarding their Senior School and future pathways. Parental and guardian involvement will be an important part of this process.
Assemblies
In the coming weeks, we will hold assemblies for each year group. During these events, we will acknowledge and celebrate students who have demonstrated excellence in the following areas:
Pursuing Positive Relationships
Achieving Personal Excellence
Demonstrating Social Responsibility
Maintaining Positive Attendance
Additionally, we will recognise Excellence on Farm, highlighting outstanding achievements in agricultural learning.
School Reports
As Semester One draws to a close, teachers and students are collaborating to gather evidence of student progress across subjects and certificates. With a busy schedule ahead, including assignments, assessments, and exams, it is crucial that students attend school consistently.
Absences can disrupt progress and assessment outcomes, so we appreciate parents’ support in ensuring their child is present at the College whenever possible and avoiding unnecessary time off. Thank you for your continued commitment to your child’s education.
We are fortunate that students leave the College equipped with valuable skills, strong results, and recognised qualifications, and it is fantastic to see them making the most of these opportunities.
Students NOT Attending Country Week
Parents and guardians should be aware that all Year 11 and 12 College students must participate in either Country Week or Work Experience during specific periods of Term 2:
Year 11s and Year 12 ATAR students must engage in either Country Week or Work Experience in the final week of the term.
Year 12s NOT enrolled in ATAR must participate in Work Experience during the last two weeks of Term 2.
If parents or students require clarification, please check in with the front office. Auschem students will follow a slightly different attendance structure.
We appreciate the proactive efforts of parents and guardians in supporting their child’s work experience placements and assisting with the necessary paperwork. Work Experience opportunities outside the College are rare, and when available, they provide invaluable benefits such as:
Building confidence in alternative workplace environments
Expanding professional networks
Gaining exposure to different career experiences
Potentially confirming a future career pathway
If you have any questions regarding Work Experience, please contact Mrs Lockyer.
For Year 10 students, the options for this period include participating in Country Week or a modified learning program at the College. The modified learning program will feature a range of valuable activities, including additional Farm time. This provides an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in various farm-related activities.
Students must attend all planned activities during this period, as it remains a regular school week.
Uniform
We uphold high professional standards and maintain clear expectations regarding the College uniform. The ongoing support of parents plays an essential role in ensuring these standards are met—thank you for your cooperation.
Some students have purchased Rugby tops as part of the class uniform, while others wear tops associated with the Royal Show, Leavers Jackets, or other school-related activities. While these items are not technically part of the official College uniform, students may wear them if needed.
We are currently reviewing our uniform policies, and at this stage, students may wear jumpers/tops that meet the following criteria:
They align with College colours
They feature a logo
Their production has been approved by the staff leadership team or they have been sold by College-affiliated companies via the uniform shop.
Thank you for your continued support in maintaining the professionalism and integrity of our College uniform.
