Open Day
Open Day at the College is a reminder about the fabulous facility we have. Students, staff and activities. We look forward to seeing our school and local community come and celebrate WACoA Denmark. A space will be available for ex-students to maintain a connection with the College. Many have amazing stories to share of their experiences at the College as well as their journeys after they left.
Subject Selections for 2026
Students in Year 10 were surveyed to ascertain their preferences on our timetable as well as preferred subjects to include in our offerings. Feedback from students and parents in regards to timetable changes is (and has been) appreciated. We have also had the advantage to see what trialled changes have worked through 2025 and those that require further tweaking.
Our Career Education program has been delivered to all Year 10 students this term. Students recently completed a Career Voyage Job Matching activity to ascertain some potential job interests.
Parent involvement in the subject selection process and the conversations around this, are in place for the next few weeks. We are supporting students to make some informed decisions in regards to their Senior School Pathway.
A Busy Environment
Aside from the Yr 10 subject selection process, the coming weeks have so much on.
Thanks to Ms Wolter for coordinating the Senior First Aid Course for year 11 students – it is an important program for young people to engage in, particularly due to our varying workplace environments.
Students who need to sit their On-Line Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (OLNA) will do so early September. It would be important that all students needing to sit this assessment are on site (week 8 of this term).
Year 12 ATAR students are doing final preparations for their Mock ATAR exams and we wish them success in this. The school based MOCK ATAR exams will occur in the first week of Term 4.
Although Year 12’s are finishing with us soon, some still have units to complete for their qualification. These Year 12’s and those sitting MOCK ATAR exams are welcome back in Term 4 but (prior to the end of this term) students need to negotiate with staff at the College if this is required.
The Royal Show is coming up and students will be working hard to ensure they are competitive and successful in their efforts.
