Key Messages
GP onsite at Denmark SHS:
I am excited to share that effective from Monday 18 May 2026, the Denmark Family Practice will be commencing providing a bulk-billing GP service for high school-aged students on-site at Denmark Senior High School. Dr Alex Sleeman has offered to provide this service on Monday mornings from 9am to 1pm, and it comes with the endorsement of the Denmark Medical Centre.
What is means is that you could book appointments for your child and they could simply be excused from class for the 30-minute meeting. You would be welcome to come to the College and accompany your child to the High School if you wanted to attend the appointment. Alternatively, our school nurse, Dana Boston, would be willing to sit in on the appointment if desired. Where possible, we will arrange transport for your child to and from the appointment.
Note that you must telephone the Denmark Family Practice to make the appointment and ensure that they have your child's Medicare number and other relevant details. You will not be able to book via online HotDoc bookings as these Monday morning sessions have been locked out to ensure that they are available for our students.
Appreciating how difficult it can be to get your child to appointments, especially if you are in paid work, I hope that you will agree that this is a great initiative and take advantage of the service being provided.
Please see attached a flyer that summarises how this works and how to book.
